Pit planting of seedlings shall
be carried out by forming a pit of about 1 cubic meter, depending
on the rootball sizes of the plant, the pit shall be sufficiently
deep to accommodate the root system of the seedling. |

|
The size off pits for seedlings,
shrubs, whips and herbaceous plants shall be 100 mm greater than the
rootball or the container diameter and 50mm deeper than the rootball
or the container. 50g of pre-planting fertilizer shall be mixed into
the soil-mix.
Whips, which in the opinion of the Engineer, are required to be staked
shall be secured using one 2m long stake and one 2m long stake and
one tie. |

The size of pits for light standard
trees and standard trees shall be 200mm greater
than the rootball l or the container diameter and |
100mm deeper than the rootbal or the container.
The bottom of the pit shall be broken up to a depth of 150mm.150g
of pre-planting fertilizer shall be mixed into the soil-mix. |

Each tree shall be secured using two 2.5m
long steel stakes and two ties. |

the container diameter and 150mm deeper than the rootball or the

Trees exceeding 4m overall height shall be guyed. |
